Privacy Statement
The Federal Government has introduced privacy legislation establishing the minimum standards that companies must comply with in relation to the collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal information. This law comes into effect on 21 December 2001.
Prior to the introduction of the law, EXTECH has always endeavoured to protect the information and privacy of customers as part of our long and proud tradition built largely upon our customers’ respect and trust. Maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of personal information supplied to us is therefore fundamental to our continued success. Still, the application of the new provisions of Privacy Act to most private sector organisation now provides a formal legislative framework to reassure individuals that their personal information is treated appropriately.
EXTECH has openly adopted the 10 National Privacy Principles contained in the law to maintain the highest standards possible in regard to privacy for our customers’ personal information. EXTECH believes this relationship is strengthened with the EXTECH Privacy Charter, which will govern the way we handle the personal information we collect in the course of our dealings with you.
The EXTECH Privacy Charter details our philosophy to privacy and seeks to set out commitment to protecting the privacy of customers as follows:
What sort of personal information EXTECH collects.
Why EXTECH collects this information.
What EXTECH will do with this information
How EXTECH will protect this information, rights of access and correction in relation to this information.
How to contact EXTECH if you have any questions or complaints about the way EXTECH handles your personal information.
With EXTECH offering such diverse range of products and services, it is critical that you recognise the importance with which privacy concerns are handled and understand the key policies and procedures adopted to support sound processes in handling personal information in EXTECH’s possession.
EXTECH will continue to collect any information it must have in order to deliver its various products and services to you. EXTECH is also working with its business partners, alliances, out-sourcing partners and third parties to ensure your privacy is protected.
EXTECH endorses the new privacy law and has worked very hard to implement the changes to our practices.
